So, you’re taking a class at BEND Hot Yoga

Here’s some things to keep in mind…

  • Please arrive 20+ minutes before the start time of the class so that we can acquire the necessary information and waivers for your participation (for example: if class starts at 5:30pm, please arrive by 5:10pm or earlier).

  • Hot Yoga enhances physical health by stretching the muscles and stimulating the joints. Like traditional yoga, Hot Yoga reduces emotional and mental stress.

Hot Yoga strengthens and cleanses the system adding intensity to the practice.

The heat and humidity raise the level of purification that occurs during your practice, resulting in more weight loss.

Hot Yoga postures and breathing techniques help the lungs become more efficient by increasing breathing capacity and oxygenating the blood.

Hot Yoga assists the body in eliminating toxins through the process of “sweating”.

The heat and humidity soften the muscle tissue so it can stretch and open. Our certified instructors will monitor and guide you through your practice in a safe and effective manner.

  • The studio temperature ranges from 85-98 degrees depending on which class you attend.

Don’t worry, we offer at least one non-heated class per day. Check out our class descriptions to learn more!

Perspiring or “sweating” assists the body with temperature regulation and elimination of toxins. Reducing the toxic burden of the body provides health benefits.

But, it is not just the heat that benefits the body… it’s the humidity as well. Humidity is so crucial that we have installed a special state of the art steam generator regulated accurately to around 1% as used in the highest end hot yoga studios. The “moisture” of the humidity, along with the heat of the “hot” room supports the muscles to stretch in a fluid-like way allowing ease of movement and greater range of motion.

  • On bottom, consider wearing leggings, shorts with built in liners, bike shorts, running shorts with build in liners or liner shorts, or capri pants.

On top, consider wearing tank tops, fitted sleeveless tops, muscle shirts, cropped tops, yoga tops, longline tops, bra tops, sports bras, or fitted sleeveless shirts.

Please be mindful that you are in a shared space. You will be bending over, bending sideways, you’ll be on your back, on your belly, etc. We want everyone to be comfortable and feel comfortable. We are creating a supportive and safe environment for all!

A Note on Shorts: If you are wearing shorts, please do not wear loose shorts. All shorts should be worn with a base layer, or have built in panties, underwear, or liners.

A Note On Loose Clothing: Loose clothing moves and sticks and becomes very uncomfortable. It causes distraction during your practice. Constantly having to adjust a loose shirt, pulling it down, etc. will soon lead to frustration.

  • Please bring your own mat, a mat towel if preferred, a towel for sweat if preferred, and a water bottle.  Our studio provides blocks and straps for use during class.
