What will BEND’s YTT provide?

This training will highlight advanced techniques in asana, pranayama, and meditation. Build confidence in teaching to diverse levels, abilities, and backgrounds, and learn systems to develop workshops and targeted teaching series for your current or future students.

We'll also have fun together as we take a deeper dive into the many aspects of yoga practice and philosophy.

Our YTT provides you the knowledge to teach yoga anywhere (not just BEND).

How long does a 200hr YTT take to complete?

Each program is different. Our YTT will take 5 months to complete, and offers a great balance of personal life and teacher training hours.

What will the 200hr YTT include?

  • Postures and Alignment: Emphasis on advancements and modifications of asana, the use of pranayama in asana practice, therapeutic applications of breath and movement, and dedicated time for the detailed breakdown of individual postures.

  • Teaching Methods: Build confidence using hands-on adjustments, incorporate voice and video recording as a form of reflection and feedback for your teaching, and enhance your ability to weave metaphor, story, and specific themes with the inspiration of movement. Select texts will include Yoga Beyond the Poses, by Sage Rountree

  • Anatomy of Movement: We have partnered with the renowned Leslie Kaminoff and his 20hr online Yoga Anatomy Fundamentals Course with Amy Matthews. An additional 10hrs will be spent as a group integrating this online training into your teaching practice. This course is valued at $500 and is already included in the overall program tuition.

  • Yoga Philosophy: A portion of each weekend will be dedicated to further study of the ancient teachings of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, Ayurveda, and other sacred texts and their application in the modern world. Select texts will include Untethered Soul, Light on Life, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Shiva Sutras, and Patanjali's Yoga Sutras.

  • Yoga Practicum: Design and apply your own 30hr community teaching experience to a targeted group of your interest. This training will support you in this process from start to finish.
